Sathya Sai Baba

About Sathya Sai Baba

Sathya Sai Baba is the Avatar of our days living in the South India, in Puttaparti.

He was born in 1926 and named Sathya Narayana Raju.

At the age of 14, He told His parents that He would not go to school any more, because He knows everything. He told that He is an incarnation of well known in India Muslim saint Sai Baba (Baba means Father in Sanskrit). This saint lived in the place called Shirdi and leaved His body 8 years before Sathya Sai Baba was born. Sathya Sai Baba told also that He wanted to leave the home in order to dedicate His life to helping people, preaching the Truth about God, about the Way of attainment of the Highest Freedom in Mergence with Him.

His years of childhood and adolescence are described in detail in the remarkable book of Samuel Sandweiss Sathya Sai. The Holy Man and the Psychiatrist; so, everyone interested can find this information in it.

All preaching activity of Sathya Sai Baba is accompanied by His demonstration of miracles.

He did this even in school years: He materialized sweets, pencils, rulers, and so on. He won easily in running among His coevals by transporting instantly His body from the start to the finish.

In the following years, He converted adult atheists to believers, for example, by materializing in front of them, sitting at the table, the dishes which were “ordered” mentally by every one of them.

As the preaching activity of Sathya Sai Baba developed, a group of devoted followers gathered around Him; an ashram was built, where pilgrims could stay. Support of financiers and entrepreneurs made it possible to create in India a network of medical and educational institutions supervised by Sathya Sai Baba, to begin publishing books. Thanks to books and films, the name of Sathya Sai Baba is well known now on all continents; He has millions of followers.

The Teachings of Sathya Sai Baba

He does not say that His Teachings are new. These Teachings are just one more manifestation, for current conditions on the Earth, of the Divine Teachings which God constantly repeats through His Messengers. These Teachings are called in Sanskrit Sanathana Dharma — the Eternal Law.

Below are some sayings of Sathya Sai Baba that illustrate the essence of His Teachings:

“… My mission is to establish the Sanathana Dharma and the faith in one God that was preached by the founders of all religions. No one has to abandon their religion or rituals, but rather worship one God through them.”

(Hislop J.S. — Conversations with Bhagavan Shri Sathya Sai Baba)

“God is One, but many names are used to speak of this one Absolute Reality.”

(Sathya Sai Gita)

I preach only one religion of love for all, which alone can integrate the human race into a brotherhood of man under the fatherhood of God. I know only one language of the heart beyond the mind or the intellect which relates man to man and mankind to God, thereby creating mutual understanding, cooperation and community life in peace and harmony. On this basis I want to build one humanity without any religious, caste or other barriers in a universal empire of love which would enable My devotees to feel the whole world as their family.

(Hislop J.S. — Conversations with Bhagavan Shri Sathya Sai Baba)

“...Love is the basis of everything. It is the single most important quality that has to be developed. All your thoughts must become immersed in this quality of love... then truth will naturally establish itself in your heart. All your acts must be saturated with love, then dharma will naturally manifest itself in all your undertakings”

(Sathya Sai Gita)

“Service to man is service to God.

(Sathya Sai Baba — Yoga of Action)

“We try to find God, seek Him throughout the universe, but we never attempt to discover Him in ourselves, where He really abides…”

(Sathya Sai Baba — Yoga of Action)

“Human soul expanded to the Divine state becomes equal to God. Human consciousness expanded to the infinity becomes equal to the Source that created the universe.”

(Sathya Sai Baba — Yoga of Action)
